Introduction: Hormoz Island (/hɔrˈmuːz/; Persian: جزیره هرمز Jazireh-ye Hormoz), also spelled Hormuz, is an Iranian island in the Persian Gulf. Located in the Strait of Hormuz, 5 miles off the Iranian coast, the island is part of Hormozgān Province.
